CAREY SLADE

With a strong, clear, boldness, Carey Slade and her guitar make for an amazing delivery of entertainment and musical art. Her sincere approach to life is reflected in her music. Down to earth and honest, her lyrics speak to your heart in simple terms. No hidden meanings, its pure face value honesty. Carey Slade's current CD, "Carey Slade," a eleven cut CD, show cases her ability to integrate the country music influences of her teen years with a unique mixture of folk, blues, and rock and roll.

"Thoughtful, jamming, heartfelt, humorous, and touching songs touching on topics from gay couples, to road songs, to jail sentences, to Camelot, to love, to love, and to more love. “Lovely”."

LODOWN MUSIC

The 90’s lead Carey into the beginnings of a full time music career. She was the lead vocalist and rhythm guitar player for Blonder Tongue. During that time Blonder Tongue opened for well-known Rock and Roll performers, to include Korn, Blackfoot, Peter Kris, and Rob Halford of Judas Priest.

Since leaving Blonder Tongue she has played with and/or opened for Vince Welnick, Lester Chambers (of the "Chambers Brothers"), K.K. Martin, Chico Chism, Hans Olson, Barry"The fish" Melton, Keith Secola.

Carey Slade started her music journey at the age of 14 in a small town Eagar/Springerville Arizona, about a four hour drive outside of Phoenix Arizona. Her grass roots influence in the early years included Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, The Bee Gees, Tanya Tucker and Waylon Jennings. Today her music delivery includes the influences of Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge, Joan Baez and Emylou Harris.

At the age of 14, she composed her first song "If You Only Knew," which received air play on the local radio station in Chickasha OK. By the age of 16 Carey was performing every Friday and Saturday evening at the Taco Hut, a Mexican food restaurant in Chickasha OK. There was no inside track into the music world, a self taught musician and writer, she was a small town girl who simply loved to write songs, play music and listen to her favorite songs on the local radio station.

In the eighties, while enlisted in the US Navy she continued to play and perform overseas in Japan, and all over San Diego. No matter where she was, Carey’s love for music kept her performing and writing.

Carey’s single, "Wind in the Chime" is included on the Blues Today VOL. II, CD produced by Pete Thelen. The CD has received excellent national and international reviews.

"Ten-song compilation that belongs in the record library of every blues aficionado…so diverse and featuring such a variety of talent, it’s almost impossible to compare one song to another…each song has its own identity and vibe."
