Sla-Day

Sla-Day, the new Phoenix based acoustic duo,
features Carey Slade and Mary Godfrey.
Both Slade and Godfrey started their
musical journeys at the age of 14.
Slade (Arizona native), teamed up with
Godfrey (Chicago native), shortly after
Godfrey relocated from Boston.

Slades’ indeniably strong vocal delivery
includes influences from
Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge,
Joan Baez, and Emylou Harris.
Godfreys’ soft alto vocal styling includes
influences from Christie McVie, Dido,
Chrissie Hynde, and Cowboy Junkies.

Slades’ International experience, combined with
Godfreys’ North American experiences
gives way to a very charismatic stage performance.
Slade and Godfrey alternate between
bass, guitar, mandolin, and banjo;
creating strong rhythms
backed by powerful vocal harmonies.

Individually they have released solo CD's
and are currently writing material
for their future “Slade” Cd.
They continue to perform as the “Slade” duo,
as well as individual solo gigs, and with
“The Traveling Medicine Show” featuring
Slade, Godfrey, Bern “Daddy” LeZotte, 3-Trees and ralo.
